Good night stations are a new and trendy way to give that extra luxury feel to the end of your perfect day. After a wonderful day and night of celebrations, bid your guests farewell in style. What nicer way to say goodbye than to let them choose their very own luxury ‘goody bag’ from the ‘station’ filled with your Wedding themed inspired snacks and beverages…
The station can be changeable through the seasons with Spring/Summer weddings opting for refreshing snacks and beverages such as Ice Cream, Strawberries & Cream, Iced or cold beverages. Autumn/Winter weddings could offer a warm selection such as Hot Chocolate, Mulled Wine with snacks like warm apple & mince pies.
The station can be themed to match the style of your wedding. For example Vintage themed Weddings could choose a high tea selection with a variation of teas on fine china incorporating your colour scheme.
I’m sure this trend is will be huge in 2013 and beyond.

One of the biggest trends for 2013 is the revival of 1920′s mint colour scheme with nature and the outdoors in mind and simplistic accompaniments of bark and wood to give an organic feel to your day.

One of the most important factors in themes and schemes is continuity so how does a venue or caterer adapt to ensure that this is met whilst still being practical and fulfilling the needs of the couple and their guests on their special day?

With a ‘Back to Basics’ element and wood and bark being a prominent feature in 2013 this could be incorporated into your meal presentation, perhaps a starter such as Scallops with a Pea and Mint puree served in shallow jam jars tied with some twine, a Roast Lamb Main braised in Garlic, Rosemary & Mint served on bark boards and desert of After Eight Ganache served with homely Mint Choc Chip Ice-Cream in keeping with the theme of the day.

So, if you’re getting married this year, make it a MINT affair!

This week we are very excited to be venturing into construction catering once again. Our skills were put to the test fitting our 44 foot kitchen and servery at Fallago Wind Farm in the Scottish Borders.

Our customer is undertaking the construction and installation works on the Wind Farm with a vast workforce for us to accommodate!

Recognising that staff employed on a construction site requires quality food and a comfortable, welcoming environment to sustain them during long hours and physically intense work, we will shoulder the organisation and provision of catering services.

We will provide our customer with a delicious deli bar, a hearty full breakfast service, home-cooked lunch service including a comprehensive snack selection, alongside popular confectionary and drinks available throughout the day served by our enthusiastic and fully trained staff will provide outstanding service at all times.

Hello and welcome to our brand spanking new blog!

We plan to post all of our Tasteee company news, delicious recipes from our chefs, the odd interview with the glamorous team, and generally keep you all up to date with anything we think you might find interesting.

If you would like to contact us at any point, please feel free via the website, Twitter, Facebook, or even leave a comment on the blog below.

For our first post we thought it’d be a good idea to start at the very beginning so if you’re sitting comfortable, then we’ll pass you over to the MD, Mr. Craig Denholm to tell the story….

There were a few specific factors which spurred me to venture out on my own as a caterer. My work-life balance was off kilter for a start. I’d been so dissatisfied with the amount of time I was able to spend with my family and desperately wanted to be able to get to a point in my working life which would allow me to be there at the all-important school sports days, nativity plays and that sort of thing. I wanted to be in control of my own life and quickly realised that starting my own business was the route to go down.

With that decision made, I began to think about the things in my life that I’m passionate about – I wanted my working life to revolve around something I cared about. Food certainly comes in at the top of that list, well, top 5 anyway. Having a keen interest in good food, I came to the conclusion that I’d rarely been impressed by the catering you get at events and functions, in fact, I’d had the misfortune of tasting some absolutely awful dishes and canapes over the years!

So really, my family and previous catering disappointments incensed me to carve out a business in the catering industry – I just knew I could make time for my family and do a better job than what had become commonplace.

I bit the bullet and got on with it. On September 1st 2008, I spent £53 pounds on ingredients, rented a kitchen, made some sandwiches and spent the day visiting factories in and around Irvine offering them to the factory workers to buy for their lunch. I took £17 that day, which wasn’t the best I suppose but it felt great and it certainly didn’t stop me. I believed it was a good idea with great potential and everyone has to start somewhere. Since then I’ve built up a great team and we’ve worked on some fantastic projects from Puffer’s Cafe to construction sites, and catered at very memorable private events and weddings.

‘From small acorns, large Oak trees do grow,’ and that, as they say, is that.
